FAQ'sQ. What sort of items do you consign? A. Seasonally appropriate, freshly laundered, hanger-ready & current in style (less than 2 years old preferably). We love Designer labels & items that combine functionality, originality, & style. We also consign Accessories, Home-Decor, & Furniture.

Q: I've never consigned before, how does it work? A: Because we consign on a walk-in basis, we limit the number of items we will consider for consignment without an appointment to 15. If you have more than 15 items to consign however, we will gladly set an appointment to look through and consign any items appropriate for the store.
Q. How much do you pay? A. We pay you 50% for Designer/desirable labels that are 2 years old or newer and sell for $20 or more. If something slightly older is classically appropriate for the store to consign we will consign it at a 40% rate. Current high-end designer handbags may qualify for between 60-75% when they sell. To see if your handbag qualifies - ask the sales associate at time of consignment.
Q. When will I get paid? A. Checks are cut any time after the 1st of the month for the previous months sales. You must have a minimum of $10 accumulate on your account to receive a check, If you have less than $10 coming to you it is available for use in credit in the store until it reaches the $10 minimum. Any credit earned in the store is good for a maximum of 1 year from the date it was issued at which point it will expire and no longer be available for use or accumulation. Credit can be used immediately! If you consign an item and it sells that very day - you have your percentage in sales to use as in-store credit immediately. Don't forget to ask a clerk what your available credit is when you come in to shop or check our online "Consignor Login Site" at http://consignorlogin.resaleworld.com/musisonmain. You will use your email address as both the username as well as the password to log in to this site and check your balance.
Q. What is the consignment period? A. The consignment period will be determined at time of consignment; however, it is typically 60 days for clothing and 3 months on designer handbags. If something has a high value, often times we will incrementally discount the item each month until it sells or we return it to the consignor. Pay close attention to the consignment expiration date! Requests to pick items up that have not sold during the consignment period must be made no later than 5:00 p.m. on the expiration date of the consignment term or they will become the property of Musi's On Main and may be subject to being donated. If you have made a request to pick up your items they will be pulled off of the sales floor the weekend after your call is received and available for pick-up the following Tuesday.
Q. How are things discounted? A. Most clothing will have a 25% reduction in price after 30 days and will go half off after 60 days, unless otherwise negotiated. At that point the item will incrementally come down in price as often as once per week depending on how seasonally appropriate it is. Discounting will be at the discretion of Musi's on Main unless otherwise negotiated and/or specified at the time of consignment. If you would like to ensure your item sells for a certain amount or that it gets returned to you if it doesn't, simply request a "low" at time of consignment and as long as the item is picked up by it's expiration date, it will not go any lower than the negotiated price!
Q. Can I pick my item up before the consignment period is up? A. Once an item has been consigned we ask that you leave the item in the store for the length of the consignment period. If you would like to have your things returned to you at that point (prior to being put on the half-off rack), you may call to request that the item be pulled for you. Items must be picked up within a week of being requested to have picked up to avoid being donated. In rare cases we do make exceptions to this rule!
Q. What about listing my item online? A. We do eBay! If your item does not sell in the store and we think it might be marketable online - you may request to have us put it on eBay. For items put on eBay we split profits with our consignors 50/50 after all fees for listing & shipping the item have been deducted. Items will be considered for eBay on a case-by-case basis. Some things simply sell better online and it's more profitable for a consignor to use that venue. We will advise consignors of the option to do so at the time of consignment.
